IRIQUI Excursions is a local project, born from the association of nomad families in the area of Mhamid in southern Morocco during the Nineties. This is a unique project which has an infrastructure of its own and a qualified native staff that knows the area very well. You will experience an authentic and pleasant trip with people who were, most of them, born in nomads’ families.

Bivouac of the Oasis Sacrée IRIQUI Excursions - our own infrastructure : - a bivouac of the Oasis is in the middle of the desert, 55 away from Mhamid : ’Oasis Sacrée of Oum Lâalag’. It spreads over 15 ha and there can be found a spring that offers the most precious gift in the desert : water. Iriqui develops breeding there as well as organic farming and it endeavours to protect this heaven of peace and vegetation from climatic aggressions and from a certain kind of tourism unrespectful of environment. This bivouac offers an infrastructure of quality : nomad tents for the restaurant and to sleep, sheltered from the wind and in the shade of the palm trees, bathroom and toilet, together with a kitchen. All of them are permanent buildings.
- a permanent bivouac in Chgaga around 15 km from the Oasis, where are the biggest dunes, spreading over more than 40km. This bivouac comprises of nomadic tents and a restaurant.
- a
small hotel in M`hamid with clean rooms en suit bathrooms (hot water),
tasty
and ordinary Moroccan cooking. - all the equipment and staff necessary to organize the tours, bivouacs and caravans, including the four-wheel drive (4x4) Land Rover with a driver, particularly suitable for the desert.

Leaving from Ouarzazate, go off on a trip and discover the Draa Valley and its palm grove which will progressively lead you to the gateway to the desert (250km from Ouarzazate - 4 hours) Go and visit the surroundings of Ouarzazate as well, Fint Oasis, Aït Benhaddou and its magnificent kasbah, the Gorges of Todra and Dadès, in the High Atlas... and many other places that have a dazzling beautiful variety of landscapes. |

Iriqui excursions work
mainly with individuals as well as with some agencies and
associations.
Any tour we offer can
be modified at our customers’ convenience, and dates are to be
chosen by them. We do not have already imposed group leaving, so
that the customer benefits from a large range of choices and
liberty.
We want the tour to
meet your expectations and the trip to go off peacefully and in
private.

Iriqui excursions also aim at protecting the desert, while promoting eco-tourism with respect for environment. Thanks to our activity, we wish we could take an active part in the development of the area, in an associative and communal way.
